Digital rectifier for cathodic protection

The SteelGuard TX by Cathec is a digitally controlled high-power supply unit, rated up to 2 kVA, for the cathodic protection of pipelines, storage tanks, and other buried or above-ground metallic installations. The system ensures precise and stable control of the protection parameters, which is essential for effective and long-term corrosion protection.

Thanks to its digital control unit, the rectifier can operate in constant voltage, constant current, or constant potential mode, allowing flexible and precise adjustment to project-specific requirements. Power conversion is performed by a thyristor-controlled phase-angle rectifier, combined with an output filter consisting of a choke and capacitors. This provides a stable DC output with low ripple and reliable cathodic protection performance.

The SteelGuard TX is housed in a DIN2 polyester pavement cabinet manufactured by Emiter, suitable for outdoor installation and available with an integrated meter compartment. The enclosure provides high mechanical strength, excellent corrosion resistance, and durable protection against environmental influences.
