The Borin STELTH® 4 is a solid-state reference electrode designed for permanent installation in cathodic protection systems where maximum measurement stability and reliability are required. Thanks to its enlarged sensing surface (“Fat Cat” design), the STELTH® 4 provides particularly stable and representative potential measurements, even in environments with variable soil resistivity or less-than-ideal contact conditions.
Like all STELTH electrodes, the STELTH® 4 operates without a liquid electrolyte, resulting in maintenance-free performance without the risk of drying out or leakage. Its robust construction ensures long-term stability in industrial applications, both underground and in wet environments.
In addition to permanent installation, Cathec also strongly recommends the STELTH® 4 for field measurements. Thanks to its wide base and large contact surface, the electrode is particularly suitable for measurements on flat electrolyte surfaces such as concrete. This provides stable contact, rapid stabilisation, and reliable readings during inspections and verification measurements.
Available reference systems:
- Cu/CuSO₄ – Standard reference for soil applications
- Ag/AgCl – Ideal for chloride-rich or marine environments
- Zn – For specific reference requirements in particular corrosion environments
Typical applications:
Permanent monitoring of pipelines, tanks, and concrete structures, as well as accurate field measurements on flat surfaces where a large sensing area provides a clear advantage.
